This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how 2050 App Inc. (“2050,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you use our mobile application, desktop and web experiences, and related features and modules (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.
For purposes of this Policy, “personal data” or “personal information” means any information that identifies, relates to, describes, or can reasonably be associated with you as an individual. This may include information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the Service, and information we receive from third parties.
The Service is operated by 2050 App Inc. a company incorporated in Delaware, United States of America. For the purposes of privacy and data protection laws, 2050 App Inc. is the primary data controller. We also operate with the support of our parent company in Singapore, and our United Arab Emirates–based affiliate, which provides research and development services and conducts processing operations. This Policy applies globally. Where local laws provide additional rights, we recognize and honor those rights.
When you register an account, you provide information such as your email address, mobile number, or social login credentials. You also provide demographic details including your date of birth, gender, and interests, which allow us to personalize your experience. You may upload a display picture, use a shadow avatar, or create a biography. Instead of traditional usernames, we assign Name Plate identifiers.
We collect personal information in several ways. First, you provide information directly when you create an account, post content, complete questionnaires, or interact with features such as Family Profiles, or SHHH... messages. Second, we collect information automatically through technology when you use the Service, including cookies, pixels, SDKs, server logs, and device signals. Third, we receive information from third parties such as login providers, app stores, payment processors, analytics partners, verification services, and advertising networks. In certain cases, we may also receive information from publicly available databases or lawful marketing partners.
We also process certain information you may choose to provide that can be considered sensitive under law, such as details about your health, lifestyle, relationship goals, gender identity, or sexual orientation, particularly when completing questionnaires in Connect or Speed Dating. We collect and use such information only with your explicit consent, and you may withdraw that consent at any time in your account settings, though doing so may limit your use of certain features.
We collect information you generate when using the Service, including photos, videos, audio clips, live streams, text posts, comments, reactions, and metadata. This content may be shared through modules such as Moments, Broadcast, Journal, Wall, Whisper, SHHH..., or Chamber. We also process private communications, such as messages sent through Whisper, and one-way messages delivered through SHHH... to recipients outside the platform. If you use SHHH..., we temporarily store the recipient’s email address or phone number only for delivery and opt-out purposes and do not build profiles on non-users.
We automatically collect device and usage data, including IP address, operating system, device identifiers, app interactions, crash reports, and diagnostic logs. If you enable location features, we collect precise or approximate location data through GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth to power features such as 50M. We may delay, obfuscate, or aggregate location signals before displaying them to other users to reduce risks of stalking or targeted harm.
We may also receive information from third parties, including login providers such as Apple or Google, payment processors, app stores, verification vendors, analytics platforms, and advertising networks.
We use the information we collect to operate, deliver, and improve the Service. This includes enabling the full functionality of the platform, such as allowing you to post Moments, participate in Connect and Speed Dating, share opinions through Broadcast or Wall, communicate through Whisper or SHHH..., contribute stories in My Journal, curate your My Lifestyle collections, make confessions in Chamber, manage Family Profiles.
We use your information to protect your anonymity in public spaces while ensuring authenticity through backend identity verification. We rely on profile details, questionnaire responses, and engagement metrics to personalize feeds, enhance connection suggestions, and refine our matching algorithms. Location information is used to power features such as 50M, which help you discover nearby users and explore heatmaps of global activity.
Payment and transaction data are processed to enable purchases, prevent fraud, and comply with financial record-keeping obligations. We also use data for moderation, including detecting and removing harmful, illegal, or abusive content, as well as to prevent stalking, harassment, or misuse of location features.
We analyze aggregated and anonymized data for research and development purposes, including feature testing, performance monitoring, and improving platform safety. With your consent, we may use your information to send you promotional communications, show interest-based advertisements, and offer sponsored content. Finally, we may process your data to meet legal requirements, respond to law enforcement requests, and comply with regulatory obligations.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your information as necessary to perform our contract with you, such as by providing the Service. We also process information to pursue our legitimate interests in running a secure, innovative, and efficient platform, provided that these interests do not override your rights. We rely on your consent for optional uses such as marketing or cookies, and you may withdraw that consent at any time. Finally, we process data where required to comply with applicable laws.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may, however, share it under certain circumstances. We share data with our affiliates in the United States, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates, who support operations, development, and compliance. We share data with trusted service providers who help us deliver the Service, such as hosting providers, cloud storage services, payment processors, analytics companies, and identity verification partners.
Certain information you choose to share, such as content you post publicly on Moments, Wall, or Broadcast, may be visible to other users of the Service. Where you share content semi-publicly or anonymously, we will respect your privacy settings.
We may also disclose information when required by law, in response to lawful requests from authorities, or to prevent harm to users, third parties, or the public. In the event of a business transaction, such as a merger, acquisition, or restructuring, personal data may be transferred as part of the transaction.
Some features, including 50M, rely on location information. These features are strictly opt-in, meaning you must actively enable them on your device. When enabled, we process and may store location logs for operational, safety, and fraud prevention purposes. We do not disclose exact GPS coordinates to the public.
We may aggregate, delay, or otherwise obfuscate data before displaying it to reduce risks such as stalking or harassment. Although we use commercially reasonable means to maintain accuracy, location services may not always be precise or available in also regions or devices. You may withdraw permission at any time in your device settings, though certain features will then be unavailable.
You remain the owner of the content you create and share on the platform. However, by posting or submitting content, you grant us a license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content to operate and improve the Service, consistent with your privacy and account settings. Content you post anonymously or under a Name Plate identifier is not intentionally linked to your verified identity, except where required by law or for safety reasons.
When you delete content, we will cease displaying it publicly and will make reasonable efforts to remove it from our systems within a reasonable time. Nonetheless, copies of your content may remain in backups, may have been shared by other users, or may be retained as required by law or for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention or safety investigations.
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we may retain certain data for a period of up to ninety days to comply with safety, fraud prevention, and legal requirements. Transactional and financial records may be retained for longer as required by law. Anonymized or aggregated data that no longer identifies you may be retained indefinitely for research and analytics purposes.
The Service uses automated systems to deliver personalized experiences and maintain safety. Our algorithms determine matches in Connect and Speed Dating, rank content in feeds such as Moments or Wall, generate personalized recommendations, and measure activity scores. We also use automated tools to detect fraud, spam, or harmful content, and to enforce restrictions when our systems flag activity that threatens safety or integrity.
These automated processes may affect what content you see, who you are matched with, or whether certain activity is blocked or flagged. We do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects without appropriate safeguards. Where an automated decision has a significant effect on you, you may request human review and an explanation of the main factors considered.
We may use machine learning and artificial intelligence systems to help us operate, improve, and secure the Service. These systems analyze data such as your interactions, content, preferences, and activity patterns in order to deliver personalized recommendations, rank posts in your feeds, suggest potential matches, and surface relevant topics or conversations. They also help us detect harmful or unlawful content, identify spam or fraudulent behavior, and ensure that moderation decisions are applied consistently.
In developing and refining these systems, we may use data that you provide to us, data we generate automatically from your use of the Service and aggregated or de-identified datasets. We do not use the content of your private Whisper or SHHH... messages for advertising or external profiling. When we use your information for training or testing our systems, we do so in ways designed to minimize privacy risk, including de-identification and strict internal access controls.
These technologies do not replace human decision-making in areas that may produce legal or similarly significant effects. Where an AI or automated process contributes to such outcomes, we apply human oversight and allow you to request a review of the decision. We do not sell your information to third parties for the purpose of training their independent AI models.
Your data may be transferred and processed outside your country of residence, including in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and other countries where our affiliates, partners, or service providers operate.
For users in the EEA and UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and other safeguards to ensure adequate protection. For users in the UAE or GCC, we transfer and process data in compliance with applicable local data protection laws. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your data may be processed in jurisdictions with different privacy laws than your own, but we will take appropriate measures to safeguard it.
The platform may display advertising, sponsored content, or promotions from partners. Advertising may be personalized using cookies, device identifiers, or pseudonymous profiles built from your activity on the platform. You may be able to opt out of interest-based advertising through device settings, but you will still see non-personalized ads.
We employ technical, organizational, and administrative measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. These measures include encryption in transit and at rest, strict access controls, secure authentication processes, and regular audits. Sensitive features, such as identity verification for My Journal or Speed Dating, involve ID document verification conducted with high standards of security. Despite our efforts, no system can be guaranteed as fully secure, and you use the Service at your own risk.
The Service is not intended for children under the age of thirteen, or the minimum digital consent age applicable in your jurisdiction if higher. Certain features, including those involving dating, require users to be of legal age under local laws. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from an underage user, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right to access the personal information we hold about you, the right to correct or delete that information, the right to restrict or object to certain processing, the right to port your data to another provider, and the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing, but it may limit access to certain features that rely on that information.
Residents of California and other U.S. states with consumer privacy laws may also have additional rights, including the right to know what categories of data we collect, the right to request deletion of that data, the right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising, and the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We honor browser or device signals such as Global Privacy Control where required. You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf, and you may appeal our response if you are dissatisfied.
To exercise your rights, you may contact us at [email to add]. We will verify your identity before fulfilling requests and respond within the timeframes required by law.
Certain regions provide additional rights and protections. Residents of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom are entitled to rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what data is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Residents of Brazil are protected under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados. Users in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have rights under their national data protection laws, including access, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing. We respect and honor these rights in accordance with applicable law.
We actively moderate content and enforce our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines. Automated systems and human moderators review posts, including private or semi-private content, when reported or when potential abuse is detected. We may remove unlawful, harmful, or abusive content, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate our standards.
For safety, we use automated detection technologies to identify and block known child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, terrorism content, and other severe violations. We may preserve and disclose flagged material and related account data to authorities where required by law or necessary to prevent imminent harm. We also act against false reporting and coordinated abuse. Whisper and SHHH... messages are private but may be accessed when flagged for investigation under these safety rules.
The Service may provide links to third-party websites, applications, or services. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage reviewing their policies before using their services.
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will comply with applicable legal obligations to notify you and relevant authorities. Notifications will include the nature of the breach, potential consequences, and the steps we are taking to mitigate harm.
In addition to the categories described above, we may process sensitive information, including health and lifestyle details, sexual orientation or relationship preferences, and location data when linked to your identity. Such data is only processed with explicit consent or when permitted by law, with heightened safeguards including encryption, restricted access, and short retention periods. Sensitive data is never used for advertising.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will update the Effective Date and be communicated through the Service or other appropriate means. Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States of America. Any disputes relating to this Policy or the handling of your personal data are subject to the arbitration and dispute resolution provisions set out in our Terms of Use.
